In August 1955, Emeritt Till, a 14 year old boy from Chicago is visiting his relatives in Mississippi and allegedly whistles at a white girl. Till was beaten, shot and dumped into the Tallahatchie River. The murderers, two white men, J.W.Millen and Roy Bryant were acquitted by an all white jury.
In November 4, 2008, Barack Obama from Chicago is elected as the first black President of the United States.
