  • Warmth in Cold November

Here's a lil tale of warmth in these cold november winds:

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably coifed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.

As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.

'I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

'Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.'

'That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied.

'Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. 'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away. Just for this time in my life.

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.

So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories! Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing.' Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

    1. Free your heart from hatred.
    2. Free your mind from worries.
    3 Live simply.
    4. Give more.
    5. Expect less

  • Alaskan Jewel

Sarah Palin does not represent all Alaskan women. Some of them are brilliant as:

    Jewel-fs02
    Jewel of the Ice

  • America Votes: Down to the Wire

Obama paid $ 3million for a 30 min prime time political ad on the the 3 major American TV networks last night.

It was the most brilliant show I've ever watched so far this year!

Meanwhile, Palin dropped another bombshell linking Obama to the P.L.O because he used to be in the same university faculty where one of the prof. was a former Palestinian sympathizer.

The truth is the Americans, including Israel from the time of Carter to Bush has been negotiating with the P.L.O which is now Fatah for a Mid-East Accord.

It's not even worth arguing as Palin is already established as a big joke and a clown, but then again the politics of fear and smear works on still many rednecks and low wit dick heads.

Obama's response: "They have gone so low, soon they'll be labelling me a communist because I shared my toys in Kindergarten."

A new day is coming to America, at long last a visionary instead of a mercenerary will occupy the White House!

Barack Obama will be the next President of the United States of America!

  • America Votes: The American Dream

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

    I have a dream today!

delivered 28 August 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C.

On November 4, 2008, the world awaits if  that dream is fulfilled.

  • November Blues

    November is coming,
    I hate this month,
    I dread this month,
Many bad things in the past occured on this month,

    Plus:
    The trees are bare,
    The sky is grey,
    It's cold, it's damp...
    That doesn't help!

    Depression mode coming!
Time to sing sad country songs perhaps,
they've got lots a sad song themes I could choose from as:

    the wife is cheatin'
    the wife left him,
    his aunt died,
    he impregnated his aunt,
    accidently shot the dog,
    prison songs ...things like dat!

I need to get the %%%% outta here!

Sarah Palin may not make it to the White House but she continues to reign as the most watch and talked about person in the world. Last week's Saturday Night Live's show broke all of SNL'S previous ratings with a viewing audience of 14 million.

Here is the next President of the U.S.A., assuming the Republicans win and McCain croaks:

  • 21 Ways

Someone sent me these quotes of 21 ways to love and live happilly everafter.
Most of them are true and make sense I thinks! :)

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.

THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

FOUR. When you say, 'I love you,' mean it.

FIVE. When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.

SIX.. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.

EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.

NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.

TEN. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.

TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.

THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'

FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

FIFTEEN. Say 'God bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.

SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson .

SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.

EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

    TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.

    "We are the children..."  :

    How's the turkey? Bon Appetit!

There are 36.3 million Filipinos who are 19 years old and below (NSO 2000). Yet no group of Filipinos faces more hazards than the children. In excess of a million and a half children are estimated to live on the streets, begging for food and often engaging in criminal activity. More than three and a half million children from 5 to 17 work under often-grueling conditions, in spite of legislation outlawing child labor.

Of the 1.5 million streetchildren, 60,000 are prostituted. The Philippines is the fourth country with the most number of prostituted children (Intersect, December 1995).

Research studies conducted in schools show that for every 3 Filipino children, one child experiences abuse (Manila Bulletin, 11 February 1996). During the first semester of 1999 alone, there were 2,393 children who fell prey to rape, attempted rape, incest, acts of lasciviousness and prostitution (DSWD 1st semester, CY 1999).

The statistics are growing each day. These clearly depict the immense hardship which Filipino children are subjected to. Unfortunately, the family that is supposedly the primary source of the children's sense of trust and security is itself beleaguered. In most instances, it can no longer adequately provide even the children's most basic needs like food, education, housing, and an atmosphere of love, affection and nurturance. Its capacity to protect the children and enhance their development and participation rights is likewise affected.

Few more years and the next sure Prime Minister of Canada will be this kid. Justin Trudeau,
running for a Liberal seat in Papineau East, Montreal, now being held by separatist BLOC MNA.
    TRUDEAU JUSTIN

Harper called this election hoping for a majority government when the polls were in his favour, the WALL street fall-out has changed his chances. Many Canadians do not trust Harper
as his earlier views are far wing right on gay rights, abortion and sending Canadian combat troops in Afghanistan, departing from Canada's traditional role and inventor of Pearson's Peacekeeping Forces. He further blew his chances by cutting funding of the ARTS, the very culture of Quebec of which he hoped to gain more seats to assure his majority.
In fairness, all the right wing accusations have not surfaced in his 2 1/2 years of leading a minority government. Canada has maintained a good economic standings despite worldwide slowdowns.
Given the alternative leaders, I believe he should be given a chance to govern a majority and time will tell because so far Canada under his present leadership is not doing too bad.

    "O CANADA, GLORIOUS AND FREE..."

  • President Sarah Palin

If McCain and Palin wins, the likelihood of Sarah Palin assuming the Presidency of the U.S. in the event the ailing and aging McCain dies before his term would be a very discomforting reality.

Palin on foreign affairs: Was that superman? No, it's Putin on the airspace of Alaska!

Defending McCain on Wall Street deregulation: "I'll check it out for ya!"

On the government bail-out, Afghanistan and Aye-raq: "I think the bail-out will be good also to shore up the health care and the taxes and the economy and the trade and the job creation and the health care and the taxes and the globalisation also under the umbrella- ella-ella."

"Bin Laden is in Afghanistan and the terrain there is different from Iraq. We should go there and win also like we did in I-rock!"

And here is the infamous Saturday Night Live show breaking all records of viewership of late night TV shows in U.S. and Canada, the incredible actor Tina Fey's Sarah Palin's impression:

The following comments I think said it all:

OBAMA-BIDEN is the intelligent choice to vote for the White House, will it happen?

  • America Votes: Game Over?

11 points behind Newsweek poll, McCain opened his last card, making Palin to do the dirty job to paint Obama a terrorist.

Ayers is the leader of disgruntled radical left wing American students in the 60's against the Reagan's policies who carried out bombings of Chicago police stations and government establishments 40 years ago, when Obama was 8 years old. Ayers later was a reformed Academic in Illinois University of which the young Illinois lawyer served as a Chairman. Together they sat on the University Board to successfully receive a Congressional grant for University Reform and therefore had acquaintances during that time. There was no known contact for the past 20 years when Obama has moved on to other activities. This malicious, low and desperate attempt to inflame, divide and sinisterly tie the Arabic name of BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA as a terrorist.

But the strategy backfired on the Republicans and condemned by most political journalists and commentators and even some Republicans doubting the bad judgements of the McCain campaign. In true erratic fashion of McCain, now tried to put out the fire of which he was instrumental in fanning the flames of throwing the race card.

Viewing the above, did he just concede behind the lines that he has thrown everything to Obama but he just cannot stop the much younger, clear minded, simply a much superior intellect than him, short of endorsing him as the next President of the United States?

Is game over? Not really, despite the polls, despite the erratic and worrisome behaviour of
the burnt McCain and the contrast collective, clear and sharp intellectual superiority of Obama. Despite the truth that Obama was raised solely by his white Irish American mother and white grandparents, graduating first of his class at Harvard purely on scholarship grants, McCain graduating at the bottom of his class in the Air-Naval Academy, in the end, this election will boil down to a referendum - IS AMERICA READY TO ELECT A BLACK PRESIDENT?

    God Bless America!

  • A Pre- Christmas Story

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny,
are you sure I don't have enough money?''

The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.'

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there'

His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''

    My heart nearly stopped.

The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.'

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me.'

'I love my mommy and I wish she didn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.'

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll!''

'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.

The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!'

Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me!''

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.''

    'My mommy loves white roses.'

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young
    woman and a little girl.
The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.

Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is
still, to this day, hard to imagine.

And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.
