China is the world's biggest producers of fake goods, from designer labels Prada's, Guccis,
Luis Vittons, softwares, DVD movies, etc., etc.
The spectacular Olympic Ceremonies is nothing the world has ever seen, except - not all of it was authentic. The Beijing Media has inserted a digitally animated firework sequence in one of the closing ceremonies "live" fireworks show. That maybe forgivable as the rest of the spectacles in the stadium were magnificent works of art and choreography.
But one that is really sad was Beijing's discrimination of it's own people in it's poor judgement of showing off a prettier, bit-western looking 9 year old girl to "lipsing" the beautiful voice of the popular 7 year old singer because she has crooked teeth and chubby round face. Fuck it! Bruce Lee can't look like Chuck Norris, I'd watch Bruce anytime! Nor Zang Ziyi look like Britney Spears, so what! I'll take ZZ over BB anytime!

In it's attempt to show the world that everything in China is beautiful, rich, peaceful, modern, China is only fooling itself. Why destroy and displaced the narrow streets and houses of traditional "hutong"? Why build a wall and be embarrassed that there are indeed some poor people and slums in China as there are "flavela" in Brazil, "harlem" and "bronx" in New York, ghettos in London, Paris and Munich. In it's attempt to look so much as the West, it also
destroy in the process it's old culture and traditions, which is it's unique charm and identity, unwestern as it maybe.
