obama rocks

Highlights of Obama's Speech in Germany, 200,000 people attended:

"I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before. Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen – a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world.

I know that I don’t look like the Americans who’ve previously spoken in this great city. The journey that led me here is improbable. My mother was born in the heartland of America, but my father grew up herding goats in Kenya. His father – my grandfather – was a cook, a domestic servant to the British.

I know my country has not perfected itself. At times, we’ve struggled to keep the promise of liberty and equality for all of our people. We’ve made our share of mistakes, and there are times when our actions around the world have not lived up to our best intentions.

People of the world – look at Berlin, where a wall came down, a continent came together, and history proved that there is no challenge too great for a world that stands as one ."

No American President since John F. Kennedy has charmed Europe and the world until a brilliant young first term senator surfaced in the limelight as the likely next President of the United States of America. The young generation embraced him in a rockstar adulation and the old establishment watches cautiously, jealously but nonetheless quietly admire and respect the undoubted intellect, eloquence and charisma, that was lacking in the seemingly forever idiotic caricature of the Bush's years.

Ironically, while Europe already voted for Obama as their choice for the next U.S President,
MaCain has actually been slowly catching up in the polls.

Obama maybe the citizen of the world and the rest of the world will embrace him, but the most difficult task of all is to convince the Afro Americans, that he share their hopes and values as he is not the typical American Negro, and the white Americans, that he is truly an American citizen in unfortunately still a - John Wayne America!
